We have a new Interior Designer from Fleetwood joining The Paint Shop colour consultancy team.  Whether you are up styling a piece of furniture, starting from scratch painting a new home, revamping the old exterior or simply just want to give your home a lick of paint, Patricia will be on hand each month to help you.  Patricia will be on hand to help you choose the right colour and finish and all the bits in between.

It won’t be long before Patricia becomes another member of the Grahams Family so we thought we would properly introduce her to you with a few little questions.

How did you become a Fleetwood Colour Consultant and has interior design always been a passion of yours?

I have been an independent interior designer for over 20 years and do consultancy work with Fleetwood for the past 10 years on and off.  Originally, I studied graphic design where colour and its effects were my passion.  When I moved back to Cavan I began working on decorating and designing interiors and as a huge fan of designer-end paints I love working with the guys at Fleetwood especially now with the Pantone and Vogue ranges.

What can we expect to see from Fleetwood in 2018?

More colours introduced especially in the pantone range with the annual reveal of "colour of the year" which sets trend for the year ahead.  This year the colour is ultra violet and I get a great thrill watching the use of this colour and those recommended with it in an exciting and edgy way.

If you could only have one colour for the rest of your life what would it be?

purple - all shades of it - I love it!!! It gives a mystical and pensive feeling.  It can be natural like heather or vibrant with a dramatic almost industrial feel like ultra violet - so versatile.

Do you have any top tips on DIY painting?

Preparation, preparation, preparation...choosing the correct product or finish makes any job a breeze.  Whether it be lots of sanding, sealing or priming you cannot skimp on this part of the job.

I'm a huge fan of total matt finishes - these allow all shades including deeper colours to sing and show the true colour without any sheen.

I think you can never have enough low tack tape - the most ingenious invention!

You can chat to Patricia once a month in our Paint Shop. Dates announced on Facebook.
